What does In Progress mean?

What does Under Review mean?
Under Review usually means your application is in a review path or waiting to be evaluated. It is often more specific language than In Progress, but still does not say who is reviewing it or when. See Workday Application Under Review.
What is the important difference?
Under Review points toward evaluation; In Progress can describe the entire active workflow. In a particular employer's setup, though, both may function as broad active labels. The employer's configuration matters more than the apparent sequence.
Is Under Review a good sign?
It is generally a neutral active signal rather than a closure signal. It is not proof that you passed screening, are shortlisted, or will be interviewed. A recruiter message or scheduling request is stronger evidence.
Can Workday move back to In Progress?
Yes. A portal can show a broader label after a more specific one when the employer changes workflows or candidate-facing mappings. That change alone does not reliably show improvement or decline.
How long can either status last?
